Long time coming...
It's been a very long time since I've updated this. That's all I will say about that.
I need to change the title of my Blog since I no longer live in Humboldt Park. I currently reside in Horner Park, but it's not quite as catchy of a name. For that matter, as far as city living goes, it's not as interesting of a life either. Anyone familiar with Chicago neighborhoods would agree with me. Actually, they'd probably be asking, "Where in the world is Horner Park?" My old neighborhood was diverse with increasing racial tensions and a wide variety of economic backgrounds. My new neighborhood is still diverse but is composed mostly of families with similar economic brackets.
What else has changed besides my location? A lot. My job. My marital status. My life, pretty much.
Steven and I got married in September in Indiana. I have candid pictures from friends up here: http://picasaweb.google.com/sarahkonet It was beautiful and exactly what we wanted. It was absolutely phenomenal to see how God provided at every turn. We went on a honeymoon in Colorado, which was equally beautiful. We loved it there.Right now I'm working as a nanny for a family from our church. Hmmm. That sounds familiar. This time I'm only watching 1 child instead of 4 though. :-) I love it. It's a tremendous blessing and exactly what I needed for this stage in my life. I took over the position after my former flatmate moved to Bangladesh for the year. (Here's her spot, for any mutual friends out there, http://priscillakdriscoll.spaces.live.com/)
Steven and I just got back from Florida where we spent Christmas with my dad's side of the family in a giant family reunion. It wasn't really giant compared to my mom's side of the family. It was only 18 people, but every other aspect of the holiday was of gigantic proportions. It was fun. I'm glad we only do it once every 10 years though. Steven and I are planning on continuing last year's tradition of giving our Christmas gifts to each other on Epiphany. Which reminds me that I need to do something about obtaining a Galette.
A lot of other things have changed...but I can't think of what they are right now and I've procrastinated long enough on the things I am supposed to do this afternoon.
